The bulldozer was caught bulldozing most famously in Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, when Arthur Dent sees a bulldozer outside his kitchen window, waiting to demolish his house as it is in the way of a planned route for a (hyperspace) bypass. Dent decides upon a Gandhian tactic: lying down before the tool-turned-menacing machine.
