UPSC frequently examines the effectiveness of welfare schemes, the challenges faced by vulnerable groups like Scheduled Tribes, and issues of governance and accountability in public service delivery, especially in education and social justice.
Tribal welfare in India, particularly concerning education, is addressed through various schemes and institutions like Ashram schools, aiming to provide education and upliftment to Scheduled Tribes in remote areas. However, these initiatives often face significant implementation challenges, including inadequate infrastructure, poor oversight, and geographical isolation.
