46 cadres of banned insurgent group surrender in Manipur

46 active cadres of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) [KCP(PWG)], a Meitei insurgent outfit, surrendered in Manipur, laying down sophisticated weapons. This mass surrender, facilitated by the Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and the State Government, is significant as these cadres were not part of prior peace agreements. The Ministry of Defence stated that this event represents a severe operational degradation for the KCP(PWG) faction, which was involved in anti-social and anti-national activities, and paves the way for public infrastructure development and regional prosperity.
