The article details the widespread adoption of the RailOne App, launched by Indian Railways to enhance passenger experience by consolidating various services like reserved, unreserved, and platform ticketing, train enquiry, PNR enquiry, and grievance redressal (RailMadad) into a single mobile platform. It highlights the app's significant download and daily ticket booking figures. A major part of the article focuses on the robust cybersecurity measures implemented to safeguard the ticketing system from cyber attacks and fraud, including Aadhaar authentication for Tatkal tickets, multi-layered application, network, and infrastructure security controls (DDoS, OWASP, WAF, CDN), physical security (ISO 27001 certified data center), continuous security audits (CERT-In TSAP integration), and administrative/systemic anti-fraud measures. It also provides data on tout arrests by RPF and the high percentage of bot requests denied access to the e-ticketing system, demonstrating the effectiveness of these security protocols and the increasing shift towards online ticketing.
