The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) has undertaken significant measures to modernize India's national statistical ecosystem. Key initiatives include adopting digital platforms like Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) integrated with e-sigma for National Sample Surveys, reforming macroeconomic statistics by revising base years for GDP, CPI, and IIP, and implementing data harmonization/standardization frameworks such as NMDS 2.0 and SQAF. MoSPI has also aligned with global statistical standards like UNFPOS, UN System of National Accounts, and IMF's SDDS, and developed the SDG-NIF. Additionally, it has operationalized PAIMANA for monitoring Central Sector Infrastructure Projects.
