Visit families affected by Ken-Betwa project, hear their grievances: M.P. CM tells officials

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has directed officials to address the grievances of families, particularly tribals, affected by the Ken-Betwa Link Project (KBLP) and other state irrigation projects in Panna and Chhatarpur districts. The directive follows protests by affected villagers, supported by opposition leaders, demanding better compensation and rehabilitation. The CM emphasized doorstep delivery of welfare benefits and provision of essential facilities like schools and health centres for displaced families. The KBLP, a national importance project, aims to transfer water from the Ken to the Betwa river basin, benefiting the Bundelkhand region, but impacts the Panna Tiger Reserve and involves felling of a large number of trees, affecting thousands of families.
