A shared disaster, beyond borders and geopolitics

A recent glacial collapse near the Nepal-China border triggered devastating flash floods, causing significant loss of life and infrastructure damage in Nepal, India, and China. Initially mistaken for an earthquake, the event highlighted the cross-border nature of natural disasters and the urgent need for trilateral cooperation despite geopolitical tensions. India launched a comprehensive Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operation, deploying NDRF teams and providing relief material to Nepal and affected Indian states.
