Judicial infrastructure panel submits interim report to CJI

A committee formed by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant, known as the 'Judicial Infrastructure Advisory Committee' and chaired by Supreme Court judge Justice Aravind Kumar, has submitted its interim report. The committee was tasked with assessing the infrastructural requirements of the Indian judiciary, identifying necessary government support and financial allocation, and suggesting measures for modernization, including computerization under the e-Courts initiative, citizen-centric services, and bridging the digital divide. The report comes amidst concerns over rising case pendency, inadequate court infrastructure, and recent budget cuts for the Ministry of Law and Justice.
