Russian President Vladimir Putin visited New Delhi for the 18th BRICS summit in September 2026, marking his first in-person BRICS participation outside Russia since the Ukraine war. The summit, hosted by India, focused on enhancing collective resilience in food, energy, health, disaster reduction, and critical supply chains amidst a fragmented geopolitical environment, global economic challenges, and the Russia-Ukraine war.
