The Dravidian Movement, originating in early 20th-century Madras Presidency, was a socio-political movement advocating for the rights of non-Brahmins, social equality, and regional autonomy. Led by figures like E.V. Ramasamy Naicker (Periyar), it challenged the perceived dominance of Brahmins and the centralizing tendencies of the Indian National Congress, eventually demanding a separate 'Dravida Nadu'.
